In Khasavyurt, truckers report on law enforcers' attempts to disperse protest action
In Dagestan, Khasavyurt hosts the rally of truck drivers, who are protesting against the introduction of the tolls from trucks for the use of federal highways. According to truck drivers, law enforcers twice tried to disperse the rally of the protestors.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 15, in Dagestan, truck drivers started a week-long strike in the Karabudakhkent and Kayakent Districts. Today, it has been reported that the strike also takes place near Khasavyurt and Kizlyar, near the border with Azerbaijan. Law enforcers accumulate their forces at the places of the protest action, and truck drivers report on detentions of some strikers.
Today, at least 500 trucks are standing on the outskirts of Khasavyurt. This was reported by Surkhai Alimirzaev, one of the protesters. According to him, today, law enforcers have twice tried to disperse the strikers.
At least 200 trucks are accumulated near the border with Azerbaijan, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Abdurakhman, another participant of the protest action.
