In Makhachkala, detained mosque-goers released

In Makhachkala, mosque-goers, who were taken from the mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street to the police station, have been released. In total, law enforcers detained no more than six persons, the spokesman for the mosque reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, law enforcers detained believers of two mosques located in Kotrov Streets and Hungarian Fighters Street. In Kotrov Street, Grigory Tumanov and Dmitry Korotaev, reporters of the "Kommersant", were detained. Soon, they reported that they had been released. Officials from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have stated that the "Kommersant" reporters were invited to the police station for a conversation and that the mosque-goers were brought to the police station for their identification.

The policemen have explained their actions at the Salafi mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street by the search for a man suspected of a crime, reports Magomed Magomedov, the spokesman for the Salafi mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street.

"No clashes occurred here. No believers were detained after the prayer. Only prior to the start of the prayers, 5-6 persons were detained," Magomed Magomedov has noted.

According to a believer of the Salafi mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street, the number of detainees was higher, and it reached 10-14 persons.
