In Dagestan, truckers claim they have no money to pay tolls
In Dagestan, about 100 truckers continue all-Russian protest action against the tolls to be paid by trucks for the use of federal highways. According to the protestors, the new tools will bankrupt a lot of drivers, and those carriers who will be able to keep the business will be forced to significantly raise the prices for their services.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 15, in Dagestan, truckers began a week-long strike against the introduction of the system "Platon" in the Karabudakhkent and Kayakent Districts. On November 18, they parked their trucks on the roadside of the highway "Caucasus" not far from the villages of Kayakent and Manas, which resulted in the formation of traffic jams.
The participants of the protest action report that the truckers stay round-the-clock on the federal highway "Kavkaz" near the villages of Manas and Kayakent.
According to Anvar, a driver of a truck, the additional fee will leave a lot of drivers without work, since they have to pay too much even apart from the new tools.
In his turn, a participant of the protest action, whose trick is parked in the area of the so-called Manas ring, states that the introduction of the tolls for trucks will affect the prices for goods in the stores.
Earlier, the economists, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", have stated that the introduction in Russia of the tolls to be paid by trucks for the use of on federal highways will force carriers to raise prices for the transportation of goods and will finally result in the growth of the prices on food in the stores.
