Resident of Dagestan convicted for helping militants
In Dagestan, the Tlyaratin District Court has delivered its verdict in the case of residents of the village of Vitsiyatli, Tsuntin District, who was accused of helping militants.
According to investigators, starting since 2011, the convict had been helping the members of the "Tsuntin" illegal armed formation (IAF). In particular, he transported them in his car, and bought camouflage uniforms, boots and foodstuffs for them.
The resident of Vitsiyatli has been convicted under two articles – Part 5, Article 33, and Part 2, Article 208, of the Russian Criminal Code (aiding participants of a formation, not envisaged by a federal law), and sentenced to 5 years and 2 months of imprisonment. He will serve his term in a general-security colony.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a month earlier the same Tlyaratin District Court delivered its verdict in another case of aiding militants. A villager of Khibyatli, Tsuntin District of Dagestan, was sentenced to 5 years and 4 months for helping a local IAF member.
