Applications of South-Ossetian residents about 2008 conflict sent to The Hague
The "Legal Initiative for Russia" has submitted to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague applications of persons affected by the Georgian-South-Ossetian conflict in 2008. The complaints state the use of heavy weapons of indiscriminate action, killings and torture.
The documents, transferred by the "Legal Initiative for Russia" to the ICC on November 12, describe the crimes allegedly committed by the Georgian party.
The "Legal Initiative for Russia" began working with the victims of this military conflict back in 2008, when defended their interests at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), and was the only organization that took up the collection of presentations to the judges of the ICC from victims living in the territory of South Ossetia.
The "Legal Initiative for Russia" has interviewed 18 victims of the military conflict, who are also representing their relatives – missing, killed or wounded persons, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the organization.
