Nalchik resident complains about destruction in her apartment during CTO

In the course of a counterterrorist operation (CTO), conducted in an apartment block in Nalchik, during which Robert Zankishiev was killed, an apartment was severely damaged, said the owner of the apartment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10 power agents blocked a multi-storey building in Nalchik, where, according to their data, Robert Zankishiev, the leader of the local branch of the "Islamic State" (IS), and his Muslim wife were hiding. The woman was wounded and taken away from the CTO scene. Zankishiev was shot dead during the assault of the apartment. At the end of the assault, the CTO regime was lifted.

"When we returned home after evacuation, the whole parquet was broken; everything around was drilled through; the wiring was burnt out; the ceiling was in bullet holes. The CTO was carried out from my apartment," Madina Kushkhova, the tenant of No. 57, located above the apartment, where Zankishiev was killed, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She added that she lives with two sons, one of whom is a schoolboy. Around 11:30 a.m. on November 10, as she said, at first "there was a terrible roar," and then a shootout began that lasted for about 10 minutes.

"It was very scary. Then, they started to aggressively pounding at the door. The boys saw special agents through the peephole, and opened the door. We were told to take our money and documents, and go out. They told us not to close the door. I was so confused that came out in slippers. We took a taxi and went to my brother," said Kushkhova.

According to her story, they returned home in the evening of the same day, but because of the devastation, it was impossible to remain in the apartment for the night; and the woman with the children went for the night to her mother.

"On the first day they promised to accommodate us in a sanatorium, and to completely restore the apartment. Then, they plastered the holes in the floor and decided, as I understand, that all was restored," she said.
