"Rosbalt": figurant in Paul Khlebnikov's murder case found in Chechnya
Kazbek Dukuzov, accused of killing in Moscow of Paul Khlebnikov, the first editor-in-chief of the Russian Forbes, has been found in Chechnya. Dukuzov is hiding under assumed name, The "Rosbalt" writes today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Paul Khlebnikov, then aged 41, was attacked at the walls of his own office in Moscow on July 9, 2004. The journalist was wounded by a gunman from a passing car, and later died. It was the first case of customized murder of western journalist in Russia. Magomed and Kazbek Dukuzov and a Chechen authority Khozh-Akhmed Nukhaev, who was named by investigators as the customer of the murder of the journalist, were put on the wanted list.
Operative agents have learned that in summer of 2015 a certain prisoner Balaev was released from prison in the United Arab Emirates (UAE); he turned out to be Kazbek Dukuzov. Then, he left the UAE; and later information was received about his detection in Chechnya, the "Rosbalt" writes, citing its law enforcement source.
According to the source, operative agents used the DNA examination of objects used by the figurant in question, when he visited public places, and precisely identified Dukuzov.
"There is every reason to believe that Dukuzov is still in Chechnya," the edition quotes the source.
