On November 4, NCFD residents kept minute of silence in memory of victims of plane crash
The traditional events dedicated to the Day of National Unity in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) were marked by a reminder of the plane crash in Egypt.
In the major cities of the Southern Federal District (SFD), concerts and rallies sanctioned by the authorities were held simultaneously with unsanctioned rallies organized by nationalists.
On November 4, a rally in Cherkessk was attended by about 3000 people. Meanwhile, all entertainment events were cancelled to commemorate the memory of 224 victims killed in the crash of the Russian plane performing the flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint Petersburg on October 31.
In Makhachkala, the stadium "Trud" hosted a mass action under the slogan "One Anthem, One Country", dedicated to the Day of National Unity. The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims killed in the plane crash in Egypt.
In Grozny, according to the Chechen authorities, the festive march gathered more than 15,000 people. At the beginning of the march, its participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the passengers of the flight 9268 from Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint Petersburg.
On the eve of the Day of National Unity of November 4, the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya were transferred to the enhanced duty. Residents of Chechnya claimed being forced to take part in the festive events.
