The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 31, the Airbus A321 of the "Kogalymavia" airlines, which was carrying out flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint Petersburg, crashed in Egypt. 224 people on board were killed, including natives of the Krasnodar Territory, the city of Volgograd, and three natives of Dagestan.

On November 3, in the central square of Makhachkala, officials from the City Committee for Sports and Youth Affairs organized the memorial action. According to the organizers, about 150 people came to the action.
