Court sentences Gadji Magomedov to 17 years of imprisonment
According to the decision pronounced by the North-Caucasian District Military Court, Gadji Magomedov is found guilty of involvement in the mass riots in the territory of Dagestan, training in camps of Syrian militants, and combat actions in the ranks of the "Islamic State" (IS).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the course of the debates, Gadji Magomedov has admitted only one charge concerning his involvement in the riots in Gimry. The prosecutor asked to sentence him to 25 years of imprisonment.
"Gadji Magomedov is found guilty of commitment of serious crimes, associated with involvement in mass riots, training in order to carry out terrorist activities, involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF) in the territory of Syria, as well as illicit trafficking in firearms and ammunition. Because of aggregate of crimes and partial overlapping of punishments, the Court has sentenced the defendant to 17 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony," reported an official of the Court as quoted by the "TASS".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 16, 2012, about 500 residents of the village of Gimry blocked traffic through the Gimry Bridge in protest against the detention of their countrymen at the airport of Makhachkala. When policemen were unblocking the road, residents of the villages of Gimry and Kharachi were throwing stones at policemen, and as a result, two law enforcers appealed for medical aid.
