On October 30, Court to consider Kislovodsk Imam's complaint about inaction of investigators
The Stavropol Regional Court has drawn the attention of the Kislovodsk City Court to the need for consideration of the complaint about the inaction of officials engaged in the checking of the report on the death threat against Imam Kurman-Ali Baichorov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 12, Kurman-Ali Baichorov was sentenced to 3.5 years of imprisonment and a fine of 50,000 roubles on charges of drug trafficking. The consideration of the appeal against the sentence pronounced by the Predgorny District Court and the appeal definition of the Stavropol Regional Court are scheduled for November 10.
According to Alaudi Musaev, an advocate of Imam Kurman-Ali Baichorov, the complaint was filed to the Kislovodsk City Court about the ineffective checking of the materials selected during the preliminary investigation against an unidentified group of law enforcers who detained Kurman-Ali Baichorov.
"The Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the city of Kislovodsk has repeatedly issued a resolution to refuse in the institution of criminal proceedings. And then, the resolution was cancelled by the Prosecutor's Office of Kislovodsk as unlawful as soon as we were able to challenge the resolution. Moreover, the information about the state of affairs was carefully concealed from us by investigator of the MIA's Division and the Prosecutor's Office," Alaudi Musaev has said.
The Kislovodsk City Court has scheduled the consideration of the case for October 30.
