Law enforcers suspect three Gimry residents of aiding and abetting militants
No charges are still filed against Patakh Arumagomedov, Gusein Shikhamirov, and Gairbek Khapizov. This was reported by a source in the ROVD (District Interior Division) of the Untsukul District.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 10, three residents of the village of Gimry of the Untsukul District of Dagestan were detained. According to local residents, the detainees' houses were searched.
On October 10, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the village of Gimry. After the special operation, it was reported the killings of three suspected militants and one FSB fighter. On October 12, the CTO legal regime was cancelled.
According to a source in the Untsukul ROVD, three detained villagers are "involved in the case as persons suspected of aiding and abetting militants."
Gairbek Khapizov, one of the detainees, is a brother of Sultanbek Khapizov, who disappeared after his detention on September 18, 2014. This was reported by one of the local women.
According to another woman from the village, "the situation in Gimry after the CTO has become normal."
Advocate Elena Denisenko has explained that the detainees may be kept in custody for not more than 48 hours, and after that, the pre-trial restriction measure is to be pronounced against them.
