Aslan Baisultanov is on federal wanted list since 2014

Aslan Baisultanov, a native of Chechnya, detained in Moscow on suspicion of plotting a terror act, used to be a member of the "Sunzha Jamaat". This was reported by an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 11, in Moscow, FSB agents detained 10 people suspected of involvement in the plotting of a terror act. On October 13, the court pronounced the decision to take into custody three suspects, including Aslan Baisultanov, a native of Grozny.

"In Moscow, three residents of our republic 20-year-old Mokhmad Mezhidov, 23-year-old Ilman (Elman) Ashaev, and 26-year-old Aslan Baisultanov were detained in plotting a terror act," said the official from the Chechen MIA.

"Earlier, Aslan Baisultanov used to be a member of the so-called 'Sunzha Jamaat'. The criminal grouping, led by Beslan Makhauri, a native of the Achkhoi-Martan District of the Chechen Republic, operates in the area of the administrative border between Chechnya and Ingushetia," the Chechen MIA's official has added.

According to the MIA, Beslan Makhauri, a native of Chechnya, is involved in the terror act committed near the building of the ROVD (District Interior Division) in the town of Sernovodsk on September 16, 2013. Since 2009, Beslan Makhauri is the federal wanted list.

"Recently, Aslan Baisultanov was a member of the criminal grouping led by Shamil Chergizov, who some time ago returned to Chechnya from Syria and who planned to commit a series of terror acts in Grozny," the Chechen MIA's official has noted.

According to him, Aslan Baisultanov was considered killed after the special operation held in Grozny on October 8.

A member of one of the Chechen NGOs has questioned the information reported by the law enforcement bodies on the situation with the detention in Moscow of people, suspected of plotting a terror act.
