Law enforcers fail to detain Elbrus Bittirov since 2001

Elbrus Bittirov, a native of Kabardino-Balkaria, suspected of plotting a terror act in Moscow, is wanted on suspicion of involvement in the terror acts in Pyatigorsk and Mineralnye Vody. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 11, in Moscow, FSB agents detained 10 people suspected of involvement in the plotting of a terror act. According to law enforcers, the detainees were trained in Syria in camps of the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization. On October 13, the court pronounced the decision to take into custody three suspects, including Aslan Baisultanov, a native of Chechnya.

Investigators suggest that Aslan Baisultanov got from the man named Shamil Chergizov a detonator and an improvised explosive device (IED) for commitment of a terror act in Moscow. On October 13, the "Interfax" reported that Elbrus Bittirov was put on the wanted list on suspicion of plotting a terror act in Moscow.

According to a source, Elbrus Bittirov, a native of the village of Chegem-2 of the Chegem District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), is wanted for almost 15 years.

17 people, including Murat Khapaev, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, were sentenced on charge of involvement in the terror acts. He was accused of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF), founded by Aslan Bekkaev, a resident of the village of Elbrus, and Elbrus Bittirov, a resident of the village of Chegem-2, the source has noted.
