Astrakhan launches investigation into falsification of election results

In Astrakhan, the investigation has been launched into the criminal case on falsification of the election results at the electoral precinct No. 344 of the Soviet District of Astrakhan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13, people voted at the elections of various levels in a number of regions of southern Russia and Northern Caucasus, including the elections of deputies to the City Duma of Astrakhan. On the election day, the Astrakhan police received 27 reports on violations. On September 14, it became known that Scherbakov, a member of the Regional Election Commission, filed an appeal reporting on doubled voters' lists at the electoral precinct No. 334, and Aitov, the head of the regional committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) also filed a complaint on the discovery of the second copy of the book with voters' list at the electoral precinct No. 334.

On October 5, Natalia Buyanskaya, a deputy of the Regional Duma, received from Dmitry Talipov, Acting Prosecutor of the Astrakhan Region, the response to the request for information on the results of the check carried out into the reports on possible violations of the law at the elections held at the electoral precinct No. 334.

"The check has been carried out under the report on falsification of the voting results at the electoral precinct No. 344 of the Soviet District of Astrakhan, and ... on October 1, 2015, following its results, the Chief of the Investigating Department for the Astrakhan Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) opened a criminal case No. 5036119," Natalia Buyanskaya quoted the response received from the Prosecutor's Office of the Astrakhan Region as stating.
