Ramazan Abdulatipov: Malik Bagliev to be appointed new Mayor of Derbent

Today, Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov has announced that Malik Bagliev, Minister of Labour and Social Development of the Republic of Dagestan, will be appointed the Mayor of Derbent in the coming days.

The Dagestani leader has made the above statement in Dagomys in the course of the 19^th International Media Festival "All Russia".

Malik Bagliev was appointed the Minister of Labour and Social Development of Dagestan in July 2013. In the period from January 2008 to July 2013, Malik Bagliev chaired the Accounting Chamber of the Republic of Dagestan.

On August 11, the eve of the 2000^th anniversary of Derbent, City Mayor Imam Yaraliev announced his early resignation. On September 15, the City Assembly was to select candidates for the post of the Mayor of Derbent; however, the date of selection was postponed to September 22. On September 22, it became known that the tender committee recognized the competition as failed, since six out of seven candidates withdrew their applications. At the meeting of the Assembly of deputies of the urban district, held on September 28, it was decided to re-hold the competition on October 30.
