Ramazan Abdulatipov treats information on expulsion of Israelis from Derbent as provocation

Members of the Israeli delegation, who arrived to take part in the celebration of the anniversary of Derbent, had to leave the city because of the actions of Dagestani officials. This was reported by the Mayor of the Israeli city of Hadera. The Dagestani leader has declared that no one forced the members of the Israeli delegation to leave Derbent and that the information about the incident was disseminated by provocateurs.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 19, Derbent celebrated its 2000th anniversary. A large delegation from Israel arrived in Derbent to take part in the jubilee celebration.

"At first, we were met very well; however, [after the arrival of the leader of the Republic of Dagestan] the attitude towards us changed," the newspaper The Times of Israel quoted Hadera Mayor Tzvika Gendelman on September 22 as saying.

According to the newspaper, the Israeli delegation "found out that their belongings were thrown out of the hotel, and they themselves were proposed to go away." "Ramazan Abdulatipov allegedly said that he did not want to see Israelis at the celebration, and the attitude to them immediately changed," stated the material published on the portal "News of Israel" on September 22.

On September 29, Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov stated that the information about the expulsion of the Israeli delegation from festive Derbent was false.

"You should not take seriously the actions of various provocateurs, spreading the false information about the expulsion of our Israeli guests. This information is not true. I am sure the provocateurs try thereby to denigrate our people, our republic," Ramazan Abdulatipov wrote on his Instagram page.
