In case against Pyotr Parpulov, accused of treason, Court refuses to interrogate defendant with polygraph
At the trial in the case against Pyotr Parpulov, accused of treason, the Court has dismissed all the motions filed by defence. This was reported by Oleg Eliseev, an advocate of Pyotr Parpulov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March 2014, Sochi law enforcers detained Pyotr Parpulov, a former dispatcher of the Sochi Airport, on suspicion of treason. For the time of the investigation, he was placed into the SIZO of Krasnodar.
On September 30, the Krasnodar Regional Court held a court hearing in the case against Pyotr Parpulov. The court hearing was chaired by Judge Alexei Ivanov and held behind closed doors.
According to advocate Oleg Eliseev, the Court has dismissed the motions filed by the defence.
"We have filed three significant motions. I cannot explain the essence of the motions filed, since I signed a recognizance not to disclose the information. Meanwhile, I can say that all the motions concerned the essence of the charge, and if they had been granted, we would have had complete evidence of the innocence of my client. However, the Court has dismissed all three motions filed, and I treat this dismissal as deprivation of Pyotr Parpulov of his right to defence," Oleg Eliseev has said.
The defender has also added that the Court and the investigators dismissed the motion "to test the defendant with a polygraph and ask questions, which would place everything in order."
