In Dagestan, policeman hospitalized with knife wound

The policeman, who arrived to check a report on explosion in the Untsukul District of Dagestan, was attacked and stabbed.

The incident occurred near the village of Maidanovsky at about 9:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 14.

Policemen stopped a car to inspect the documents. The driver approached one of the policemen, stabbed him, and then fled, the "Chernovik" (Draft) quotes the spokesperson of the press service of the Dagestani Ministry of Interior Affairs (MIA) as reporting.

The wounded police officer has been hospitalized.

According to a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan, the wounded police officer was a member of the operative police squad, which left for the village after the report on explosion on its outskirts.

The policemen decided to inspect the car parked on the roadside not far from the alleged place of the incident, and they were attacked after they had requested to produce the documents, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.
