Advocate of Ingush resident states his client was beating up at detention

Khadjimurat Temurziev, a resident of Ingushetia, was detained and placed in custody in Moscow on suspicion of an attempt to escape after committed road accident and an attack on a policeman. His advocate denies the investigators' version and claims that his client was severely beaten at detention.

Khadjimurat Temurziev, 55, is kept at the Moscow SIZO (pre-trial prison) "Butyrka" since August 28. He will stay there until October 27 under the ruling of the Zamoskvorechye District Court, his advocate Mikail Kostoev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to investigators, on August 26 Temurziev was driving a BMW car, and near an apartment building he drove in the opposite direction of a one-way road. When a DPS (road-and-post service) inspector tried to stop him, he did not obey and tried to escape. As a result of the chase Temurziev crashed into the building, came out of the car and attacked the inspector.

The prosecution of Temurziev under the article on hooliganism was stopped due to lack of evidence, said the advocate, who added that Temurziev "has a trace of a blow with a pistol on his head' his legs are beaten off; and his arm is injured."

Temurziev does not deny that he had violated the traffic rules, said the advocate.

"In his words, he is in a difficult financial situation and, therefore, after violating the rules he didn't stop in order not to be fined. Now he understands his foolish behaviour and repents. They decided to invent beating of a policeman out of an ordinary violation," said the advocate, adding that, in his opinion, his client is under pressure.
