Stavropol Territory: Pagan Slavs claim violation of their rights

Members of the neo-pagan community of Slavs-Ynglings of the Stavropol Territory, which was recognized by the court as an extremist community, complain about their blocked bank cards and penetration of unidentified persons into their households. In their opinion, these facts may indicate employees of law enforcement bodies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 6, representatives of the "Stavropol Veche of Russia" stated that within the last 24 hours at least 19 houses of local residents-adherents of the pagan cult of Slavs were searched in the Stavropol Territory. The Territorial Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported detention of five persons, in whose homes law enforcers found banned literature, and audio and video materials.

A blocking of her bank account, to which she received her child benefits, was stated by Nailya Klyuchantseva, a resident of the Stavropol Territory and a mother of five children. She was one of the five persons detained on August 6 under the article "inciting hatred or hostility, and humiliation of human dignity" and released under recognizance not to leave.

Let us add here that Klyuchantseva was put on the list of terrorists and extremists published on the website of the "Rosfinmonitoring" (the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service).

The lawyers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" diverged in the opinions on the legality of blocking bank accounts. Tumas Misakyan, a lawyer of the Moscow Bar Association "Advocates' Partnership", believes that this measure may be applied by the "Rosfinmonitoring" within the framework of the Federal Law 115-FZ in relation to the persons accused or suspected of extremist crimes. In his turn, Alexander Popkov, an advocate of the "Agora" Bar Association, has treated the practice of putting citizens on the list of the "Rosfinmonitoring" based on suspicions as illegal.
