Two Nazran residents detained on suspicion of arms trafficking
Ingushetia has initiated criminal investigation against two citizens of the republic, suspected of illegal sale of firearms.
According to the police, in the course of checking operative data, it was established that two residents of Nazran were looking for buyers of firearms. When such a buyer appeared, they sold him, for 110,000 roubles, a signalling pistol, converted for firing live ammunition, says the press service of the Chief Department of Russia's MIA for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD).
Criminal cases against them were opened under the article of "illegal arms trafficking, committed by a group of persons under a prior conspiracy," the above press service reports, adding that the article provides for up to four years in prison.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that three residents of Ingushetia were detained on May 22 on suspicion of illegal trafficking in arms and ammunition. According to investigators, they supplied weapons to North Ossetia.
