Derbent residents express their dissatisfaction with terms of resettlement from dilapidated houses

In Derbent, residents of the house No. 14 in III International Street intended for demolition fear that they will be resettled from the city centre on its outskirts. They believe there violations against them committed during the implementation of the programme for resettlement from dilapidated housing.

28 families live in the two-storey house No. 14 in III International Street, the "Caucasian Knot" was told by Tamila Alieva, one of the residents of the house.

According to the woman, in February 2015, officials from the Mayor's Office offered the residents of the house to sign "a preliminary agreement for change of residential premises." According to the document, owners are to abandon their dwellings, and the administration is obliged to provide them with "residential premises equal the withdrawn premises", within the city district.

The agreement fails to specify where the residents are to be resettled. Meanwhile, the costs for the state registration of the agreement for change of residential premises are to be paid by the residents, and the period of resettlement is specified as from January 1 to December 31, 2014.

Let us remind you that on September 15, Derbent will celebrate its 2000th anniversary. The city hosts a large-scale preparation for celebrating the anniversary.

On February 3, Sergey Melikov, the presidential envoy to the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), said that the authorities were not ready to spend money efficiently for the anniversary, and on April 9, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the state of the facilities reconstructed.
