Parties in Karabakh conflict report nine killed soldiers

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported about four dead and 15 wounded Azerbaijani soldiers. Azerbaijan, in its turn, announced the killing five and wounding eight enemy soldiers.

According to the parties in conflict, armed clashes took place on August 22-23 at the contact line of the troops of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh, on August 22 Azerbaijan conducted intensive shelling with mortars and grenade launchers. A special operation was conducted to suppress the aggression.

In social networks, Armenian users have reported that on August 23 a grenade explosion wounded a serviceman of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh.

On August 22, enemy troops were shelling from large-caliber weapons and mortars, the Azerbaijani MoD has stated in its turn, adding that five soldiers were killed and eight were wounded.

The MoD has stressed that the entire responsibility for the victims in the conflict zone is on the "military-political leadership of Armenia."
