NCFD and SFD send less pilgrims to Hajj because rise of dollar
This year, only Chechnya and Ingushetia out of the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) have fully used their quotas for the Hajj to Mecca. Other regions, as well as Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory, see a decline in demand for the Hajj pilgrimage.
Because of the growth of the US dollar exchange rate, the cost of the travel to Hajj becomes unobtainable for most residents of the NCFD, while economic tariff offers are not in high demand, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at regional Hajj missions.
The largest drop in the demand for Hajj tours is fixed in Dagestan, Bulat Kurbanov, the head of the office of "Marva-Tour", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Magomed Basharov, the head of the "Kavkaz" Company, said in his comment to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that his company had developed a cost-effective option of the travel worth 2000 US dollars, which, however, is not popular.
