Sochi Mayoralty auctions off Olympic houses built for settlers

The Mayoralty (city administration) of Sochi has put on auction 51 houses built near the Olympic Park in the ImeretiValley. Originally, those houses were designed for resettlement of people who lost their homes because of the need for construction of the Olympic facilities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of the Olympic village in Sochi announced its derelict condition and misuse since 2011.

The notification of the sale of houses is published on the website of the Sochi city administration. The total starting price of the houses is about 1 billion roubles. The average price of a cottage is 21 million roubles, and the minimum price starts from 8 million roubles.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Sochi residents who are living in deplorable housing and barracks have repeatedly raised the issue of their resettlement to the empty houses. However, the authorities have ignored their demands.
