Activists of "Civil Consciousness" suffer in mass brawl in Yerevan

Members of the Armenian opposition "Heritage" Party fought in Yerevan with activists of the public movement "Civil Consciousness". After the fight, seven members of the movement were hospitalized, said Narek Samsonyan, the leader of the movement.

According to Narek Samsonyan, the incident occurred in the evening on August 14. He believes that the attack undertaken by members of the "Heritage" Party was associated with the interview he gave on the eve to one of Armenian websites.

"In my interview I said, in particular, that all parties in Armenia are useless and unable to adequately serve the country's political field," the portal "Sputnik-Armenia" quotes Samsonyan as saying.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the incident; an inquiry is underway. During the mass brawl, Narek Samsonyan and six members of the "Civil Consciousness" received traumas, the "Interfax" reports.

In his turn, Ovsep Kazaryan, one of the participants of the brawl and a member of the board of the "Heritage" Party, has stated that member of the movement were the instigators of the fight.
