IS to focus on recruiting people from Caucasus and Central Asia
In the near future, the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) intends to move the recruiting of its new members from the Arab region to the Caucasus, Central Asia and Indonesia. This is stated in the report of the Chief Department for Religious Precepts of Egypt.
According to Egyptian experts, the IS is looking for safer regions to attract new recruits, "by using religion and slogans on defending Islam and Muslims as a shield."
"After the start of the ideological and armed struggle against the IS by leaders of the Arab world, as well as of the ideological blockade, organized against the IS by religious and cultural organizations of Arab countries, the grouping is changing its recruiting strategy and gets beyond the Middle East," emphasizes the above report of the Chief Department, quoted by the RIA "Novosti" today.
The document notes that in the Caucasus, same as in Central Asia and Indonesia, Muslims are numerous, not familiar with the extremist ideology of the IS, and are pre-configured to trust the preaching Arabs; therefore, terrorists "will find it fairly easy to recruit new supporters."
