Residents of Gimry report explosions in village vicinity
Today, at 5:30 a.m. Moscow time, power agents have put the Untsukul District under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime with the aim to search for militants. In this context, they have temporarily closed the Gimry Tunnel. Locals have reported accumulation of large amounts of military equipment near the village of Gimry.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., law enforcers began shelling the wooded area, located near the highway and the tunnel, said a Gimry villager.
"Explosions are heard in the village; residents are quite nervous, waiting for the order to leave the village. I hope this time it won't be needed," a Gimry resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.
According to his story, local residents were told about the introduction of the CTO regime during their morning prayer in the village mosque.
"In the morning, after a sleepless night, we went to the mosque, hoping to hear some information. They told us about the CTO regime and advised not to leave our homes," said the source.
