18 suspected militants from KBR are on international wanted list
As stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), 18 residents are internationally wanted for committing terrorist crimes. Other 16 residents of the republic are on the federal wanted list.
Six of those international wanted, namely: Khakim Djangurazov, Murat Kushkhov, Zalimkhan Tekhazhev, Alim Zhanimov, and Arsen and Aslan Zhirikov, are suspected of taking part in the attack on Nalchik.
Elbrus Bittirov, and brothers Aslan and Ruslan Bekkaev are on the international wanted list as suspects of involvement in terrorist activity. According to law enforcers, earlier, the Bekkaev brothers were members of Jamaat "Yarmuk"; and now are hiding in Turkey.
Four suspected members of the armed underground – Roman Gazaev, Igor Babochiev, Akhmed Sizhazhev and Muzarin Ozov – are also on the international wanted list.
It is known that Roman Gazaev had left for Syria to participate in the war for the "Islamic State", an informed source told the "Caucasian Knot".
In January 2014, a group of five residents of the Zolsky District of the KBR, namely: Kantemir Bzhakhov, Azamat Orshokdugo, Zamir Zagashtokov, Rustam Shogenov and Arthur Kipov, were announced for the international search and are still being sought.
According to the informed source of the "Caucasian Knot", Arthur Kipov, a resident of the village of Malka, is in Syria.
