Casualties of special operation in Nalchik identified

According to law enforcers, four out of those killed on August 3 in a special operation in Nalchik, have joined militants this year. One of them is the main suspect of killing the Police Colonel Takhir Guziev.

According to preliminary data, the casualties have been pre-identified as Bolat Likhov, 23, a resident of the Zolsky District; Anzor Tengizov, 23, a residents of Nalchik; Adam Shogenov, 24; Muayed Tyazhgov, 25; and owners of the apartment - Adam Nogerov, 30, and his 20-year-old wife Zukhra, the "Kommersant" writes, citing its source from the power bodies of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

The "Kommersant" notes that most of the casualties have joined illegal armed formations (IAFs) and gone underground at the beginning of this year. Muayed Tyazhgov, who is suspected of killing Police Colonel Takhir Guziev on July 31, spent only a couple of weeks among militants. The murder was a sort of an "exam" of Tyazhgov for joining militants – a confirmation of seriousness of his intents.

According to the author of the article published by the "Kommersant", in the apartment, where the militants were hiding, law enforcers found not only submachine guns and pistols with ammunition, but also a so-called "shahid belt" – a bomb equivalent to 1 kg of TNT (trotyl) stuffed with construction plugs.

As stated by power agents, during the special operation, about 300 local residents were evacuated from the area adjacent to the house in question. However, eyewitnesses reported that power agents could not evacuate all the tenants – some of them stayed in the high-rise building, in which the shootout broke out, the "Channel One" reports.
