Investigators check involvement of militants in killing police officer in Nalchik

According to a law enforcement source, a colonel's neighbour, who has recently joined militants, could be involved in the murder in Nalchik. According to investigators, the police officer was shot dead from a submachine gun and a pistol.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that an armed attack on the chief of staff of the Cherek ROVD was committed today at his house in Nalchik. The officer died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to one version, the colonel's neighbour was among the attackers.

"A colonel's neighbour has recently become a member of the armed underground. Most probably, by committing this murder, he has proved his creditworthiness," the "Interfax" quotes its law enforcement source.

Investigators have already established that the fire on the police colonel was delivered from a pistol and a submachine gun. At the scene of the crime they found 5.45 and 9 mm shells, says the Investigating Department for the KBR of the ICRF.
