Dagestani resident accused of links with militants
Investigating authorities of Dagestan have completed the inquiry into the case of a 25-year-old resident of the Untsukul District, accused of participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF).
According to investigators, in 2007 an IAF was created in the territory of the Untsukul District; and in January 2013, the defendant joined it.
Investigators claim that IAF members were trained to use and apply firearms, manufacture explosives and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), methods of planting and blasting them, as well as in methods of survival in extreme conditions of forests and conspiracy.
Investigators found out that the defendant, while remaining in the legal status, secretly, aiming to support militants' activities and to preserve his secrecy, supplied them with foodstuffs and household items, and perform a variety of other tasks.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier in July the case of the 21-year-old resident of the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, accused of participation in an IAF, was transferred to the court.
