Criminal prosecution of Murtazaliev and Vinogradov is a signal to Kadyrov

The federal authorities are getting rid of odious figures in Northern Caucasus, thus, sending an unequivocal signal to the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, said the experts, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

On July 27, in the locality named Krivaya Balka in Dagestan, armoured vehicles and armed men surrounded the summer cottage of Sagid Murtazaliev, who is also an MP of Dagestan, and prior to his appointment as the head of the Branch of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR), he headed the Kizlyar District. At night on July 27, Andrei Vinogradov, the current head of the Kizlyar District was detained.

The republic's authorities received a signal that the "expansion of Murtazaliev's team in the north of Dagestan is unacceptable," said Magomed Abdurashidov, a junior researcher at the Division of Sociology of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Dagestani Scientific Centre (DSC) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"The newspaper 'Kommersant' has reported that people of Said Amirov may stand behind Murtazaliev's criminal prosecution (the 'Kommersant' has drawn attention to the fact that it was due to testimonies of Vinogradov and Murtazaliev that Amirov received his 10-year-long imprisonment for plotting a terror act, – note of the 'Caucasian Knot')... This shows the corruption level of federal law enforcement structures," said Bisavaliev.

Khadjimurad Sagitov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Novoye Delo", has suggested that "they wanted to remove Murtazaliev away from some processes."
