Doctors were late for urgent call because of CTO in Nalchik
A resident of Nalchik died in the area adjacent to the area of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) before doctors could reach him. The ambulance stood in the traffic jam because of blocking the city centre; however, according to doctors, in any case, they would not have been able to save the man.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO regime in Nalchik was introduced on July 23 in the territory within Lenin Avenue and Kuashev, Rybalko, Schors, Kabardinskaya and Tolstoy Streets. As a result of the CTO, six people were killed in a high-rise building.
The message that July 23 a 48-year-old man died in the neighbourhood "Aleksandrovka" arrived in the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot". According to the author of the message, the man could not be saved "due to the fact that the ambulance was not let into the CTO area."
According to a source from the first aid service of Nalchik, at that time there were many calls; and there were no vacant ambulances. He confirmed that on the way the vehicle lost some time in a traffic jam, since the centre of the city was blocked.
According to the source, the man was diagnosed with "pulmonary embolism".
"With such a diagnosis, death usually occurs immediately, so, even if the ambulance "had been quite near at the time the incident, there were virtually no chances to save the man," said the source, adding that later it was found that the man was dead already at the moment of the call to the first aid service.
