Sochi rally reveals corruption schemes of allocating land plots for construction
On July 18, Sochi hosted a rally, where its participants declared the inadmissibility to build-up the territory, formerly a part of the National Park. Land plots are allocated with violations of the law; many construction sites are legitimized only by court judgements, said the activists.
There were about 20 of them at the rally.
During the rally, activists made a public inspection of the territory, which was formerly a part of the National Park and where rest house "Maly Akhun" is situated.
"The rest house 'Maly Akhun' had a united territory, consisting of separate state dachas in the park area. Here, they had a canteen, a club, a cinema, its own telephone exchange, a medical centre, dancing platforms... The entire staff lived in houses nearby. After the 1990s, everything fell into disrepair. All the dachas were destroyed and demolished. They began capturing and building-up the territories," said Rimma Somarokova, an activist.
Activists told and showed reporters the new private buildings, which appeared in the last 10 years. According to activists, the houses belong to officials and deputies of various levels, including the MPs of the territorial parliament, former chairmen of district courts, and the chairman of one of district election commissions. At least two mansions belong to entrepreneurs, earlier convicted for frauds.
Activists decided to apply to law enforcement bodies in connection with the illegal, in their opinion, constructions in the area.
