Parishioners demand to recognize articles about conflict in mosque of Nasyr-Kort as extremist

The articles by the journalist Vladislav Maltsev, covering the conflict in the mosque of Nasyr-Kort in Ingushetia, are intended to incite hatred against Muslims and are slanderous, said the believers of the above mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4, in Nasyr-Kort, during a conflict between the believers-members of the clans of Evloev and Ozdoev, automatic fire was opened. However, both supporters and opponents of Khamzat Chumakov, the Imam of the mosque, stand for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

On July 14, an application of mosque-goers, signed by 1200 persons, was sent to the republic's Prosecutor's Office, the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the Russia's Federal Service for Supervision over the Posts, Information Technologies and Mass Telecommunications ("Roskomnadzor").

In his article "Salafis Impose Their Rules in Ingushetia" published in the "Nezavisimaya Gazeta", Maltsev describes the conflict of the community of Nasyr-Kort mosque with the Muftiat and refers to the position of Roman Silantiev, the Director of the Centre for Geography of Religions of the Division of Moscow Patriarchate on Interaction of Church and Society. With reference to Silantiev, the article suggests that there is no difference between peaceful Salafis and those of them who support militants.

In his publication "Novye Karamakhi", published by the newspaper "Zavtra" (Tomorrow), Maltsev compares the conflict in the mosque of Nasyr-Kort with the invasion of militants into Dagestan in 1999 and with the attack on Nalchik in 2005.

Full text of the article is available on the Russian page of 24/7 Internet agency ‘Caucasian Knot’.
