About thousand rally against terrorism in Urus-Martan
On July 14, in the city of Urus-Martan, a rally against terrorism and extremism under the motto "We are united and steadfast" was attended by more than a thousand people, said the city authorities. However, residents of Urus-Martan note that the rally, organized by city authorities, was attended mainly by employees of budget-funded organizations; and the event was formal.
"The emergence in recent years of various extremist movements, such as Wahhabism, and threats brought by such terrorist organizations as the so-called 'Islamic State' (declared by Russia and several other countries as a terrorist organization, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), are seriously worrying people; therefore, they came to voice out their 'No!' to extremism and terrorism in Chechnya," a source from the administration of Urus-Martan explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
A resident of Grozny Musa said that GIBDD (traffic police) inspectors were handing out brochures to drivers telling about the dangers of terrorism.
Let us remind you that in June 2013 the Chechen leaders admitted residents of the republic were involved in the Syrian conflict; it was reported that from a few hundred to 1700 natives of Chechnya were fighting there.
