Militants killed in KBR were involved in series of crimes
The three persons killed in a special operation in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) were members of the illegal armed formation (IAF), responsible for numerous murders committed in the KBR and the Stavropol Territory, said the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) of Russia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced at 4:30 a.m. Moscow time in the area between the city of Baksan and the village of Dugulubgey, where power agents discovered armed men, of whom three suspected militants were killed in a shootout. Then, the CTO regime was cancelled.
According to the Department for the KBR of Russia's FSB, all the three casualties were members of the criminal grouping of the so-called "North-Eastern Sector".
"It was involved in a number of terrorist crimes, including numerous murders of law enforcers and servicemen in the KBR and Stavropol Territory in 2013-2014," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the NAC's statement.
Currently, the slain militants are being identified.
