German Sterligov refutes allegations about his links with BORN

A Russian businessman German Sterligov has categorically rejected suspicions of his links with the Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists (known as BORN) and announced the preparation of social and business projects to be implemented in the territory of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

On July 4, Sterligov moved to the NKR with his family, as reported by his assistant Polina Sirota. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the NKR, the businessman is currently registered as a tourist. The Azerbaijani MFA has stated that Sterligov broke the law on the state border and declared him persona non grata.

On July 13, at a press conference in the NKR, Sterligov said that "after the publication of his textbook 'From Grozny to Putin', he gained enemies among powerful persons and Russian Orthodox clergy," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

At the press conference, Sterligov also said that at the trial of the BORN his name was mentioned only because of conducting that particular trial at that time.

Besides, the businessman announced his plans to create the "world's first ecological offshore in the territory of the NKR" and "approve the reputation of the NKR as a producer of the purest foodstuffs, increase the demand and price for them in the different countries of the world and increase the supply thereof to the Russian market."

Arthur Airapetov, the defender of German Sterligov, said that his client is "of no value" both for the prosecution, and for the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

"His arrival to the NKR was necessary to relax the situation in Moscow," said the defender.
