Power agents state involvement of Nalchik casualties in "Imarat Kavkaz"
The persons killed in Nalchik have been identified – both were members of the international terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaz", said the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today at 3:00 Moscow time, in the micro-district Iskozh in Nalchik, power agents introduced the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime. The special operation was held in a five-storey residential building; and two persons were shot dead. After the operation, the CTO regime was cancelled.
"The casualties were active members of a bandit grouping, a structural part of the 'Imarat Kavkaz'," the NAC reports.
According to power agents, the casualties had been involved in a series of terrorist crimes, among them – attempts on lives of law enforcers and civilians, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
Power agents believe that the killed militants coordinated the network of the armed underground operating in the republic – under orders of militant leaders, they provide accommodation and travel of members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), and recruited locals to engage in the activities of "Imarat Kavkaz", the "Interfax" reports, referring to the NAC. One of the casualties is a resident of the Baksan District of the KBR, who went underground not so long ago, said a law enforcement source, as quoted by the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria".
