Deputy Head of Khosta administration declared construction in the ornithology park illegal
Today in Khosta, local residents have blocked the construction of a high-rise building, which was launched by a private developer in the protected area. According to locals, the construction site has no passport and no markings. The action was attended by about 15 persons.
Residents called the police and Mayoralty officials and addressed the local reception office of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).
"The invited police unit found out that the developer has no permits for the construction work. However, the police unit failed to react and didn't stop the illegal builders' actions," Yuri Dzaganiya, an assistant of the Russian State Duma MP from the CPRF, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The site was also visited by Yuri Boradachov, Deputy Head of the Khosta District, who treated the construction as illegal.
"I have no authority to stop the construction, but I confirm that it is illegal," he said, explaining that the developer intends to build a 12-storey residential complex there.
According to Boradachov, officials of the district administration had addressed about the start of the construction to the city administration, the prosecutor's office, the police and even to the FSB, but no action has been taken.
"Let people themselves take the initiative and stop the illegal construction. They have the right to do it," said Yuri Boradachov, Deputy Head of the Khosta District.
