ICRF identifies suspect involved in shootout with policemen in Dagestan
Nizami Agamirov, a resident of Dagestan, hospitalized with two gunshot wounds, is suspected of an attempt on the lives of policemen and arms trafficking.
Today, at about 3:00 a.m. Moscow time, Dagestani policemen wounded and detained a 30-year-old resident of Dagestan, who opened fire on them in the street when they were trying to stop him.
According to the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), Nizami Agamirov is a native of the village of Kurush of the Khasavyurt District. However, during recent period, he lived in the village of Shamkhal-Tyube of the Kumtorkala District.
Officials from the law enforcement bodies have informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that, according to the operative information, the suspect is a follower of radical Islam. Nizami Agamirov has been placed to the central district hospital of the Kumtorkala District. According to medical officers, he got two gunshot wounds: to his arm and to his abdomen. His condition is rated as of moderate severity. A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of the shootout under articles on attempt on life of a law enforcer and arms trafficking, the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the ICRF reports.
