Police in Dagestan search for robbery accomplice

Policemen have established those suspected of the robbery committed in the village of Shamkhal and are looking for their possible accomplice, who escaped from the scene.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the incident occurred at night on June 15. According to preliminary reports, three armed men committed an attack on a residential house in the village of Shamkhal, located in the Kirovsky District of Makhachkala. When the police tried to detain the attackers, they resisted; and in the shootout one of them was killed, and two others were detained.

Policemen believe that they had an accomplice, who managed to flee from the scene in a car.

The attack on the house was committed on June 14 at 9:30 p.m. Moscow time; a shootout broke out some 10 minutes later; and at 3:30 a.m. the car was found abandoned in the village. According to the latest data, three masked men armed with firearms and a knife broke into the household of a 51-year-old local resident and stole 100,000 roubles and a hunting rifle. At an attempt to escape, they opened fire at the police unit.

There are no losses or wounded persons among the policemen after the shootout. Three firearms have been taken away from the detainees, who have been identified.
