Court in Rostov-on-Don postpones Bessonov's case for the eighth time
The Kirovsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don has reschedule the consideration of the case against Vladimir Bessonov, an MP of the Russian State Duma, accused of using violence against policemen, for June 23.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that initially a preliminary hearing of Bessonov's case was appointed on March 10, but then, because of his illness, it was postponed first until March 20, and then rescheduled for March 31, April 7, April 14, May 19, June 2 and June 16.
The session was rescheduled for June 23, said Anna Berezova, the press secretary of the Kirovsky District Court of Rostov, who added that the court had received no petitions from Bessonov on adjourning the session.
Let us remind you that, according to investigators, on December 2, 2011, during an unsanctioned rally in Rostov-on-Don, Communist Bessonov, together with other members of the action, hit policemen and damaged their uniforms. The MP refused to plead guilty. However, on January 28, 2015, the State Duma gave consent to the transfer of his case to the court. On March 4, Bessonov was hospitalized with hypertensive crisis.
