Makhachkala Court extends arrest of Ibadullo Nabotov

The Soviet District Court of Makhachkala has extended until July 15 the detention in custody of Ibadullo Nabotov, a staff member of a Dagestani mosque, accused of illegal possession of weapons. An advocate of Ibadullo Nabotov has reported that the criminal case is to be brought to the court soon.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala took under house arrest Ibadullo Nabotov, a budun of one of the mosques of the capital of Dagestan. Ibadullo Nabotov was detained on suspicion of possession of a grenade and narcotic substances.

According to Askhab Djaparov, a new advocate of Ibadullo Nabotov, on April 29, the Supreme Court of Dagestan cancelled the decision on house arrest and pronounced against Ibadullo Nabotov the pre-trial restriction measure in the form of detention. Today, the term of arrest of Ibadullo Nabotov has been expired.

The advocate of Ibadullo Nabotov has noted that earlier, his client has been suspected of illegal possession of drugs, weapons, and explosive substances. However, after the various tests conducted at the request of the defence, it was proved that Ibadullo Nabotov never tried drugs and then the charge of drug possession was lifted.

The advocate also doubts about his client's involvement in the possession of a grenade.

Meanwhile, according to the explanation given by Ibadullo Nabotov on April 14, he confesses to possession of "spice" drugs and a grenade.

It should be noted that the administration of the Makhachkala mosque, which employed the arrested man, treated the detention of Ibadullo Nabotov as illegal and the criminal case against him as fabricated.
