Dagestani SC puts Mukhammad Magomedov under house arrest

The Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan has satisfied the appeal, lodged by the advocate of Mukhammad Magomedov, one of the leaders of the public organization "The Union of the Just", against the decision of the Leninsky District Court of Makhachkala to put his client into custody.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the detention of Mukhammad Magomedov became known in the afternoon on May 23; and on May 25, the Leninsky District Court of Makhachkala arrested Mukhammad for 10 days; and his advocate appealed against the arrest.

"The SC has ruled to cancel the decision of the above Leninsky Court and apply house arrest for 10 days to Magomedov. The ruling shall come into force from the moment of announcement and requires immediate enforcement. That is why, Mukhammad shall be released from custody immediately," said the advocate Magomed Magomedov.

It should be noted here that on May 25, as a result of the roundtable held in Makhachkala, public and human rights activists compiled appeals to the authorities and law enforcement bodies of Russia and Dagestan, demanding to release Mukhammad Magomedov and stop law enforcers' lawlessness.
