Municipal elections to be held in Karabakh

Local government elections will be held in Nagorny Karabakh on August 8, 2004. The Nagorno-Karabakh Central Election Commission has made such a decision. These municipal elections will be the third in Karabakh after the declaration of independence. The elections will take place in more than 200 communities. Heads of municipal communities and councils of elders will be elected. Heads of district administrations in Nagorny Karabakh are not elected, they are appointed by the government.
