In Georgia, people frustrated by political parties, political analysts note

Residents of Georgia are disappointed with the coalition "Georgian Dream" and the oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM). This was stated by Georgian political analysts Nodar Kharshiladze and Gela Vasadze, who commented on the survey held by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the survey was conducted in the period of March 27-April 19, 2015. In total, it covered 4360 respondents. Earlier, some of the results of the study have been presented. They have revealed that the majority of the population of Georgia is concerned about rate of unemployment, growth of prices and rise of inflation and that people treat the economic issues as the most problematic in the country.

The sharp drop in the rating of the political parties has become a direct consequence of the "failed economic and social policies of the government." This opinion was expressed by Nodar Kharshiladze, an expert of the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS).

According to political analyst Gela Vasadze, a co-founder of the NGO "Free Zone", "the stagnation of the UNM is caused by unsatisfactory work of the party."

Meanwhile, the experts have also drawn their attention to the fact that despite the low rating of the parties, their leaders are still very popular. In particular, the "Free Democrats" Party gained 5% in the rating, while 51% of respondents approve the activities of its leader Irakli Alasaniya.

According to the surveys held by the NDI, 31% of respondents believe that Georgia "is gradually merging with the Eurasian Economic Union," and other 68% believe that Georgia is moving towards the EU.
