Mother of seriously ill prisoner from Kamyshin demands his medical treatment

The mother of Anton Lanshakov, who is serving his sentence in the Stavropol Territory, has appealed to Alexei Selyukov, the Ombudsman for the Stavropol Territory, and asked him to provide assistance in the organization of the medical treatment of her son. In her appeal to the Ombudsman, the woman has stressed that Anton is a disabled person since his childhood. According to Elena Lanshakova, the diagnosis of her son is mentioned in the list of diseases, which can be a reason for the release from prison.

In August 2014, the 24-year-old Anton Lanshakov, who was suffering from a rare genetic disease of mucoviscidosis, was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. On February 12, the Kamyshin District Court sentenced him to five years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. At present, the convict is serving his sentence in the penal colony of the Stavropol Territory.

The woman asks the Ombudsman to defend her son's right to life, since he is in a dangerous situation at the penal colony.

The Court should have announced softer punishment for Anton Lanshakov, not connected with isolation from society. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by advocate Nikolai Khalabuda, who protected the interests of Anton Lanshakov.

"We have filed complaints to various authorities. When Anton was yet at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), me and my client filed a motion to transport Anton to Volgograd to the hospital LIU-15, to establish a medical commission and to send my client home for further medical treatment. However, such a commission was never established," said the advocate.
